Bring Your Own Craft day
We hope every quilter, cross stitcher, crocheter, knitter, stamper, scrapbooker, card maker, jeweler... will join us on March 29 in the Fellowship Hall from 9-5. We are so excited to share time together and do crafts with you. This gives you some time to do your own crafts, and time to share fellowship with your GPC friends! Come for all or part of the day.
We ask that you bring or order your own lunch. We will have a communal snack table, and you are welcome to bring a snack to share as well.

GREENFIELD FUN NIGHT & POTLUCK
We're bringing it back! (with a name change!) Fun nights are for the WHOLE Greenfield family! Come and join us for a potluck dinner (RSVP on SignUp genius) at 5:30pm, followed by games at 6:15pm, including a little group fun planned by the CE committee.
We hope you will join us! And we'll be looking for a couple of volunteers to plan the next one, which will include choosing a meal theme, and helping with set up. Please let Pastor Gretchen know if you can help.

Lunch & Learn C.A.N
The Mission and Social Justice Committee would like to invite the congregation to a “Lunch and Learn” from Freedom House on Saturday, April 5 from 12-1:30pm in Fellowship Hall. Lunch will be provided so please RSVP on SignUp Genius, so we know how many to plan for.
“FreedomLives” provides a safe house, food, clothing and internet access for clients up to 2 years. The community house is the foundation of all programming. When clients are ready to move out, the housing program provides help with housing relocation literacy and services. On average, 85% of Freedom House residents exit the program into independent housing.
“FreedomAids” provides a trained legal representative to guide clients through the protection process - coordinating evidence protection, representing them at official proceedings regarding asylum and employment authorization.
“FreedomWorks” helps clients with English as a second language, pre-employment training, resume creation, etc.
“FreedomCares” provides access to medical care and mental health care to address past trauma experiences, “FreedomTalks” is a resource for groups seeking global perspectives,experiential education and issue expertise.

Prayer Shawl Group

Blood Drive
The American Red Cross (ARC) is on a mission to sustain the blood supply which is needed now more than ever. Your support serves as a vital link between willing blood donors and the patients whose lives they help save. Your blood donations help patients of all ages, accident and burn victims, heart surgery, and organ transplant patients, and those battling cancer. In fact, every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood.
All donations are by sign up on-line ONLY on the ARC website. There are no walk-in appointments. Ash Wednesday
Join us for Ash Wednesday to begin the season of Lent. We will begin with a Pancake supper at 6pm in the Fellowship Hall. Service will be at 7pm in the sanctuary and will include the imposition of ashes and Holy Communion. RSVP for the pancake supper on our SignUp Genius page.

Deacon’s Soup & Cookie Sale
It is time again for the Deacons Soup & Cookie sale which will be held downstairs after the 9am and 11 am services. There will be a variety of different soups, chilis and cookies and brownies for sale. Favorites include Chicken Noodle, Split Pea, Chili (with and without meat). We will also have vegan soup options available.
The sales will be on Sunday 3/2/25 between services and after the 11 am service.
Proceeds to go to the Deacon fund.

Welcome Inn Overnight Program
During the week of February 23-March 1 we will be partnering with Northbrook Presbyterian to host a week of overnights at the SOCH Welcome Inn. This will be similar to the SOS overnights we’ve done in the past, but we will be hosting at the Starr Presbyterian Building. As it was with SOS there will be a lot of opportunities to volunteer for this mission project. More information will be coming about those opportunities after the Holiday Season.

Center for Jubilee Practice Lunch & Learn
Come meet Ashley and Rick from the Center for Jubilee Practice, on Saturday, January 11 from 12pm-2pm. You’ll get to hear their reflections on next steps based on the survey results, and chart a course forward that will lead Greenfield into concrete action for racial and social justice. Mission Fair
You can find unique products from both local and global entrepreneurs at the Mission Christmas Fair! Crafts, jewelry, Motown Soups, mittens, flavored salts, cookie jar kits, hot chocolate jar kits, ornaments, popcorn, our GPC Giving Tree ornaments, greeting cards, butter trees and more. A perfect opportunity to get gifts for teachers, coaches, neighbors, friends and family and support these worthwhile programs with your holiday shopping.


Giving Tree
The downriver Guidance Center will once again be the recipient of our gifts from the Giving Tree. The process will be like last year. Instead of choosing a specific gift tag and shopping for that child, we are requesting gift cards in a variety of denominations (from $5 to $100, please ensure the amount is designated on the card or envelope.) Please select major retailers that are in the downriver area to make it more convenient for the parents to shop, such as Meijer, Target, Walmart. The gift cards will be divided and distributed to several families and delivered in early December to allow time for shopping.
If you can participate this year, please bring your gift cards to the church by Sunday, December 4.

NEW MEMBERS CLASS
On Sundays after church, we will meet in the multipurpose room. Pastor Anders will be hosting a gathering for all who are new or nearly new to Greenfield. This will be an opportunity to learn more about Greenfield and ways you can be involved in our life and ministry. Liturgist Meeting
Our Music and Worship Committee is calling all readers who would like to “make a joyful noise unto the Lord” and “serve the Lord with gladness!” Are you looking for a meaningful way to be more involved in Sunday worship? Please consider serving as a liturgist! We are welcoming current, past and new folks who would like to become liturgists to answer the call.
There will be brief but important meetings on Sunday, October 20 at 10:15,( in the lounge), and again at 12:15 (in the sanctuary) for all current, returning, and new participants-choose the time that works best for you. Spread the Laughs
South Oakland Citizens forPlease join us in celebrating 20 years of Spread the Laughs on Thursday, October 3, 6pm at Mark Ridley’s Comedy Castle. It is sure to be a night filled with laughter and giving back. South Oakland Citizens for the Homeless invites you to this fundraising event featuring dinner, entertainment, and a silent auction. Come together for a good cause and support our mission to provide shelter and resources to those in need. Your participation will make a difference in the lives of the homeless community. Mama Bears Documentary

Adult Bible Study
Our next Bible study begins Wednesday, September 18th. We will be reading the book American Idolatry: How Christian Nationalism Betrays the Gospel and Threatens the Church by Andrew L. Whitehead.


Parent & Family Meeting
Families, plan to join us for a gathering to kick off the fall! We’ll have light refreshments and coffee, and then we’ll have some intergenerational fun and worship. Then, we’ll break into age groups, giving parents a time to be together for support, visioning, & calendar & program overview, while our young people have an opportunity to be together. We hope you will join us! This is for ALL families, with infants and up to High Schoolers! Please let Anders or Gretchen know if your family will be there. Food Pounding
There are many opportunities for all of us to provide a service to people who are in need.
However, none is more rewarding than providing food at holiday time.

Blessing of the Back Packs
For all of our young people and teachers returning to school, we invite you to bring your backpacks and laptop bags to church on August 25! We'll say a prayer and blessing during the children's sermon, sending you off with God’s love as the school year gets underway.

Return to Sunday School
We will kick off and get back into our Sunday School routine, beginning Sunday August 25. We invite all k-5th graders to begin in worship with their families and join for Godly Play Time following the children’s sermon.
