The Mission and Social Justice Committee would like to invite the congregation to a “Lunch and Learn” from Freedom House on Saturday, April 5 from 12-1:30pm in Fellowship Hall. Lunch will be provided so please RSVP on SignUp Genius, so we know how many to plan for.
“FreedomLives” provides a safe house, food, clothing and internet access for clients up to 2 years. The community house is the foundation of all programming. When clients are ready to move out, the housing program provides help with housing relocation literacy and services. On average, 85% of Freedom House residents exit the program into independent housing.
“FreedomAids” provides a trained legal representative to guide clients through the protection process - coordinating evidence protection, representing them at official proceedings regarding asylum and employment authorization.
“FreedomWorks” helps clients with English as a second language, pre-employment training, resume creation, etc.
“FreedomCares” provides access to medical care and mental health care to address past trauma experiences, “FreedomTalks” is a resource for groups seeking global perspectives,experiential education and issue expertise.
