Adult Ministries

Bible Study

We believe that Christian Education is a lifelong venture that includes examining scripture and the stories of our faith that challenge us to be in the right relationship with God and our community. We seek to offer meaningful Christian Education programs for every stage of life.

Wednesdays

10:00 AM & 7:00 PM

Greenfielders meet for engaging studies that will help you grow in your relationship with God while discovering how the stories in scripture are the stories of today.

Adult Groups

  • J.O.Y. (Just Older Youth)  is an informal group of adults of all ages who enjoy spending time together in joyful fellowship.  Our goal is to  make connections with our church family and spend quality time getting to know each other better.

  • Once a month, from September to June, all in the church are invited to meet for a book discussion.  Books for the entire year are chosen at the September meeting and usually include one classic, one religious topic, nonfiction titles of current interest and literary fiction. Our discussions are wide ranging and provide an excellent opportunity to get to know other Greenfielders as we share and reflect on the books we read.  There are no attendance requirements— just come when you can. Open this link to see a list of the books we have read since the Book Group was started.

  • GPC’s Climate Action Now Ministry Team seeks to promote climate change as an issue for every individual and organization. Our goal is to help each person find their way to act to help stop climate change. We have done our best to include information and based on cited and widely agreed upon scientific information.

  • Gathering as a group of men and women who enjoy knitting, crocheting and fellowship, members of the Prayer Shawl Group find great fulfillment in spreading the love of God by creating items of comfort to be given to people in need of solace.

  • Group to engage in the study of how Greenfield can address ways to connect justice, mercy and compassion in our personal lives and strive to heal and transform brokenness in ourselves, our culture, and our institutions.

The group will continue to develop programming for our congregation that will support these efforts.

For Men

Men’s Breakfast

The men of GPC meet for a monthly breakfast on the first Saturday of each month at the Avenue restaurant in Royal Oak. In addition to food and fellowship, this is a great opportunity for the men of Greenfield to get to know one another and build friendships.

Men’s Retreat

An annual Men’s Retreat which starts on a Friday night for fellowship going into an overnight stay at the Howell Nature Center, in Howell, followed by a Saturday of bible study and reflection. Join for one day or both.

The retreat has two primary goals:

1) To provide a space that sparks relationships between the men of our church.

2) Provide an opportunity to commune with God and have God’s presence restored in our lives.

Members, friends, and visitors are all welcome.

Men’s Bible Study

The men's Bible study provides a space for men to deepen their relationship with God and build godly relationships with other men. As a result, you will also deepen your relationships with those closest to you. The Men’s Bible Study meets on Saturday mornings, typically running for 5 weeks and held twice a year. On hold for now. Check back for updates

For Women

Sonshine Sisters

The women of GPC meet just once a year, but have a secret Sonshine Sister all year that they pray for and may give secret gifts. The yearly meeting is where they gather to reveal who they were praying for and to get a new sister for the next year.

Women’s Retreat

The Women's Retreat is a balance of large group interaction, mini presentations, small group conversations, a craft and meals depending on location.  The Women's Retreat varies from year to year.  We may meet at the Howell Nature Center, in Howell, where we stay overnight on Friday through Saturday afternoon, at Knoll Lodge, in a beautiful wooded area on the lake.  Or we meet for a one day retreat at the Kilgour Scottish Centre of the St. Andrew's Society in Troy.  It’s a wonderful opportunity to relax, connect with friends, and make new friends.   Members, friends, and visitors are all welcome.

We are a diverse church,

inclusive of all.
