It by Annie Hartnett is a tragicomic, magical-realist novel about Emma Starling, a med-school dropout who returns to her small New Hampshire town to care for her dying father, Clive. Amidst the town's opioid crisis, Clive hallucinates animals and interacts with the ghost of a naturalist, while Emma searches for a missing friend, navigating themes of grief, family, and redemption.

Everyone is welcome to join the discussion.
