Bread for the World Offering of Letters

Bread for the World is a Christian advocacy organization that works to alleviate hunger both in our nation and around the world. The main way they do this is through their annual Offering of Letters to Congress. They encourage congregations like ours to write letters around specific legislative requests that address hunger and poverty. This year they are asking for our legislators to permanently expand the Child Tax Credit which would help keep nearly 10 million children out of poverty. They are also calling for the expansion for free school lunches including into the summertime, a resource so many food insecure families depend on.

We will gather on Thursday, October 27 from 6-8pm to write these letters. Sample letters will be provided. Whether you have written your legislators before, or this is your first time come join us as we advocate for our neighbors.
