Church Leadership

  • Rev. Anders Edstrom has been the pastor of Greenfield Presbyterian Church since January 2021. He and his wife Heather, a nurse practitioner, reside in Oak Park with their son, Aksel, daughter, Nora and pug, Hamilton.

Anders is a graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary and previously served as the solo pastor of a Presbyterian church in Northeast Missouri.

Anders has a passion for peace and justice ministries. He is currently involved as member of the Bold Against Bail Campaign through Michigan Liberation. He is also currently associated with the Berkley Pride Block Party.

Anders is a big fan of all things Chicago Sports. He’s a foodie who enjoys finding new places to eat and new recipes to cook. You will also find him reading comic books and graphic novels.

  • Rev. Gretchen is originally from south Texas, but has called many places home.  She most recently moved to the Detroit area from New York’s Hudson Valley.  She is a mother to three wonderful teachers and joys, Lily, Hope, and Nathan, and friend and partner to Ben, who recently took a call as pastor to Northbrook Presbyterian Church.  While mothering full time, she also served as parish associate at First Presbyterian Church in Beacon, preaching occasionally and helping to make worship a place where children and families were welcome and included.

Gretchen began dabbling in designing clergy stoles and church banners in recent years and loves to sew a rainbow.  You can see her creations on Etsy and Instagram at newlifestolesandmore.  One of her passions is growing things, and she loves planting seeds and building soil, hoping to fill every corner with food and flowers.    She will begin her position as Parish Associate for CE during Advent so let’s give Gretchen a warm and inviting welcome.

  • Dianne was welcomed to Greenfield Presbyterian in June 1997. She oversees a music program of over four performing ensembles including the Chancel Choir, the Praise Team, Amplified Youth Choir, and the Greenfield Handbell Ensemble. Dianne is tasked with coordinating all music in worship with the Pastor and the rest of the staff. Her focus is on finding ways to invigorate and worship through music of all kinds. She is also the organist and pianist for all services at GPC.

Dianne studied organ and piano as an undergraduate at Wayne State University. She taught vocal music at Shrine Catholic Schools and has substituted in the Troy and Berkley Schools. She currently has a teaching studio at the Steinway Piano Gallery.

Dianne served on the steering committee for the Regional Convention of the American Guild of Organists Convention at the Renaissance Center in June 2009, and is a member of the Detroit Chapter of the American Guild of Organists.  She enjoys fundraising for South Oakland Citizens for the Homeless and working with other church musicians in Berkley on ecumenical services and concerts. In her spare time she enjoys music directing at local community theaters.
