Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How long is the retreat?

A: The retreat is a Friday overnight that runs into Saturday.  We normally have dinner on Friday night around 6:30PM followed by fellowship time (games and great conversations).  We start up again at 8:00AM with breakfast followed by the program portion that starts at 9:00AM and runs to approximately 4:00PM (including a lunch break)

Q: What if I’m not comfortable or not able to spend the night?

A: Not a problem.  You have two options if you cannot spend the night.

Option 1, join us for dinner and fellowship, drive back home to sleep and then come back Saturday morning for breakfast and/or the program portion.

Option 2, Join us for Saturday only.  See below, “Can I still attend if I cannot attend Friday night?”

Q: Can I still attend if I cannot attend Friday night?

A: Absolutely!  While you would miss our Friday night potluck and fellowship, the program part of the retreat doesn’t start until Saturday morning.  You can join us at 8:00AM for breakfast with the program portion starting at 9:00AM

Q:  What are the accommodations like?

A: We will be staying in the Knoll Lodge at the Howell Conference and Nature Center.  Knoll lodge has 9 bedrooms, each with their own bathroom that includes a shower.  The rooms have a combination of full beds and bunk beds that can accommodate 38 people.

There’s a 625 sq ft common area, that is surrounded by floor to ceiling windows with a view of the lake, where we hold all group activities.  It’s absolutely magnificent.

Q: Will masks be required, what are the COVID protocols?

A: We will be following CDC guidelines.  In accordance with the most recent update from the CDC, masks are NOW OPTIONAL as well as social distancing.  However, people may choose and are welcome to wear a mask at any time.

Q: What do I need to bring with me?

A: A packing list will be emailed out to all participants 1 week prior to the retreat.

Q: Is a carpool available?

A: Yes.  During registration you can indicate that you are interested in carpooling.

Q: How much is the retreat and how do I pay?

A: The cost is $75 and you may pay at the retreat with cash or a check made out to Greenfield Presbyterian Church.  Full and partial scholarships are available, only pay what you are capable.
