March 29 @ 11:15 am - 3:30 pm| $5
Joy Group March outing…ahhh, the sweet signs of spring! The first sign of spring is here…maple sap is dripping into the buckets at the Stage Nature Center in Troy! On Friday, March 29 our JOY group will have a chance to witness this first hand and learn about how the sap is collected and boiled down into maple syrup.
We will leave church at 11:15 and head to Camp Ticonderoga for a brunch buffet from 11:30-1:15. We will head to the Stage Nature Center from 1:30-3:00, and return to church at 3:30.
While at the nature center, we will begin with an indoor session, and weather permitting, we will go outside for a short walk and a visit into the sugar shed, where we can see our own John Youngerman boiling sap into syrup in the evaporator. You may also choose to remain in the nature center building to observe wild turkey, deer, and other wildlife that frequent the nearby feeders. Cost will be $27.00, and includes transportation, meal, tip, taxes, and the nature center. Please RSVP to Diana Stover by March 23.
