Whose Birthday Is It Anyway? is a special opportunity to remind us that Christmas is not primarily about “Black Friday” or how many presents we can fit under the tree, but a chance to make a difference in the world because of Jesus’ birth. Our Christmas Eve offering will be given to a well-researched project we believe is making a difference in the lives of people in need.
Over the past few years our Christmas offering has gone to wonderful projects like building a well for a needy community in Kenya, Alternatives for Girls and the Howell Nature Center.
Our entire Christmas Eve offering plus any monies you want to contribute for this special offering will go to Sanctum House, a brand new mission for victims of human trafficking right here in Detroit.
Sanctum House says:
What is Sanctum House? We consider Sanctum House to be “your door to safety, freedom and endless possibilities.” It will be a home for female adult survivors of human trafficking with our vision to: “Empower survivors of human trafficking with life-skills to achieve a sustainable and independent life style” and our Mission being: “To provide a sanctuary for women survivors of human trafficking” Our short-term plan is to open a home to house up to sixteen women, 18 years of age or older, for a time frame of 24 months. We will provide a safe and secure environment for our residents and our Resident Manager.
